Business Management & Professional Development April 2020

Direct links to the following programs and assistance resources are located on Chamber’s website in the Members Information Centre, in “Business Management & Professional Development Links”.

1. Are you OK? Looking after your health and wellbeing

Launched last year by Sunshine Coast Council, B-Well and Prosper is a free business wellbeing website intended to be an ‘online space to discover Wellbeing & Mental Health tools, resources, programs and information to support Sunshine Coast small business owners and employees’.

Every day is an ‘Are you OK day’ at present and your wellbeing is important, hopefully B-Well can offer you some tips both now and in the future beyond COVID-19.

Let’s reach out to each other to talk and listen – we can’t afford to not check in with each other at this at this time.

2. Regional Development Australia (RDA) Sunshine Coast

Grants and funding assistance, plus reports and plans, projects, business links and resources, and latest RDA news.

4. EcoBiz Program

FREE CCIQ program available to Chamber Members.

Funded by the Queensland Government, this program helps businesses reduce their energy, water and waste costs, to operate more efficiently.

How it works: Businesses register for a free assessment. After providing a little bit of background information on their previous 12-months of energy, water and waste bills, businesses with five or more employees will get one of our coaches visits them to conduct a thorough assessment.

Following that, they will receive a written report with recommendations on practical and tangible solutions on where they can save on their energy, water and waste, which are often no or low cost to implement.

The low or no-cost element is significant, as many Queensland businesses operate with small margins and being able to save money with little financial investment truly is a win-win scenario.

CCIQ ecoBiz has coaches based in Cairns, Townsville, Maryborough, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Brisbane, and frequently travel to other regional centres as demands arise.

This program is tailored to the priorities and circumstances of each individual business, helping them save money and become more sustainable for the future.
